🎬 ULTIMATE GUIDE To AOTR! (Attack On Titan Revolution) — April 2026

🖥️ PC Controls — Full Keybind List

Mastering the Attack on Titan Revolution controls is the single most important skill for new players. ODM gear has a high skill ceiling — you'll need to chain hooks, dashes, and slides fluidly to maximize your kill speed and avoid taking damage from titan grabs.

Key Action Tip
Q Fire Left Hook Hook onto napes diagonally for faster kill angles
E Fire Right Hook Use both Q+E simultaneously to lock on and slingshot
Space (×2) Boost Dash Double-tap for burst speed; chain multiple for mobility
R Reload Blades / Titan Heavy Attack Reload mid-air to maintain momentum; use as Titan for high-damage slam
F Block Reduces damage from titan swipes; perfect timing triggers Counter skill
C Slide Useful for dodging under low swipes and traversal
B Detach Hook Release hooks cleanly without losing momentum
Left Alt Wall Run Activate near vertical surfaces; great for escaping titan grabs
1–5 Skill Slots Assign skills in the pre-mission loadout screen
Left Click (hold) Charge Attack Extended hold increases blade swing arc and damage (if Blitzblade Memory)
Right Click Lock Camera Locks on to nearest titan body part — recommended for nape targeting

🖥️ Understanding the HUD

❤️ Red HP Bar

Your current health. Drops when grabbed or hit by titan attacks. Bandages and healing skills restore it.

💨 Blue Gas Bar

ODM fuel. Depletes when you fire hooks or boost. Runs out = no mobility. Refill at supply crates on the map.

🔶 Yellow Shifting Bar

Fills by killing titans (15 kills = full). Press Y/designated key to titan shift when full. Indefatigable Perk speeds charging.

🗡️ Blade Durability

Each blade has limited uses. Breaks after heavy use. Reload with R to swap fresh blades. Stalwart Memory uses broken blades for damage bonus.

⚡ Skill Cooldown

Skill icons in bottom bar show cooldown timers. Skills 1–5 are bound to keyboard number keys.

🩹 Injury Indicator

Icons show active injuries. Eye injury blurs vision and reduces ODM range. Arm injury disables that hook direction.

🔧 ODM Gear Basics

Your ODM gear is your primary weapon and movement tool. It has 8 upgradeable stats across 15 grade levels (E- through A+). Upgrading ODM gear costs Gold earned from missions. For the full upgrade cost table, see the ODM Gear Guide.

ODM Speed Priority #1. Higher speed = faster hooks and gap closing. Essential for kill streak farming.
ODM Control Determines how precisely you steer while airborne. High control = tighter nape approaches.
ODM Gas More gas = longer sustained flights. Critical for large maps like Giant Forest.
ODM Range Maximum hook distance. Upgrade for picking off distant titans before they react.
Blade Durability Blades last longer. Less time reloading = more kills per run.
Crit Chance Chance to deal a critical nape hit for bonus damage.
Crit Damage Multiplier on critical nape hits. Combos with Eviscerate Perk for massive damage.
ODM Damage Flat damage increase to all ODM blade attacks. Stack with Scarf artifact for max output.

🩹 How to Heal Injuries in AOTR

Injuries in Attack on Titan Revolution are de-buffs applied when you take heavy hits. Unlike raw HP damage, injuries persist until actively healed. There are four injury types and five healing methods.

👁️ Eye Injury

Vision blurs. ODM Range & Control both drop by 15%. Very debilitating on large maps.

✓ Cured by Titan Shift
💪 Arm Injury

The affected arm's hook is disabled. Left arm injury = Q broken, right arm = E broken.

✓ Cured by Titan Shift
🦵 Leg Injury

Movement speed significantly reduced. Makes escaping grabs harder.

✓ Cured by Titan Shift
🤕 Concussion

All skill cooldowns are extended. Cannot be cured by titan shifting — must use other methods.

✗ Shift does NOT cure

🔬 Healing Methods (Fastest First)

  1. 1
Titan Shift: Instantly cures all injuries except Concussion. Best method for shifting families. Fill your shifting bar and activate your titan form.
  2. 2
Bandages: Consumable item. Curative on use. Equip in loadout or find at supply crates mid-mission. Mendmaster Memory gives +1 free Bandage on every reload.
  3. 3
Helos: Order — Revolution: The Helos family's support skill heals up to 3 injuries at once and also buffs the team. Best choice for support-role players.
  4. 4
Skill Tree — Advanced Medic: A Support skill tree path passive that auto-heals injuries below 30% HP after a short delay. Unlock for survivability builds.
  5. 5
NPC Healer (Lobby): Pay Gold to the healer NPC in the main lobby between missions. Slowest and most expensive option. Only use if out of other options.

💥 How to Get Thunder Spears in AOTR

Thunder Spears are the secondary weapon system in Attack on Titan Revolution, introduced in Update 2.5. They are essential for the Armored Titan Raid and Colossal Titan Raid. To unlock them, you must first reach Prestige 1, then complete a 4-step quest line.

⚠️ Requirement: You must complete Prestige 1 before the Thunder Spear quest becomes available. There are no shortcuts.
  1. 1
    Build Three Towers
    Outskirts — Any Difficulty

Defend 3 tower construction sites from titan waves simultaneously. Prioritize AoE skills to clear groups while construction completes.

  2. 2
    Escort the Carriage
    Outskirts — Hard or above

Escort a civilian carriage across the map without it being destroyed. Titans will prioritize attacking the carriage, not you. Use wide sweeping ODM arcs to clear the path ahead.

  3. 3
    Collect 3 Ice Burst Stones
    Utgard — Hard or Aberrant

Ice Burst Stones drop from Abnormal titans (glowing ice crystals). You need 3 nape hits on Ice Burst Abnormal titans in one mission run. Bring Crit builds for reliability.

  4. 4
    Locate Missing Supply Crates
    Giant Forest — Aberrant

3 supply crates are scattered across the forest. Find all 3 and defend them from Deviant titans. Use ODM Speed upgrades and the map markers. Toughest step — don't attempt under Prestige 1 with weak gear.

⚡ Best Way to Level Up Fast in AOTR

Reaching Level 100 is required for Prestige 1. Here's the fastest path:

  • Run Aberrant difficulty: Aberrant missions give 3–4× more XP than Normal. Start attempting Aberrant as soon as your ODM gear hits B+ grade.
  • Use XP Potions from codes: Always activate an XP Potion (from free codes) before starting XP farm sessions. They stack with Prestige EXP boost.
  • Pick the +15% EXP Prestige Boost: After your first Prestige, the EXP boost compounds heavily and cuts time to each subsequent Prestige significantly.
  • Utgard Aberrant is the best XP map: Dense titan spawns, short map, consistent Abnormals. Run Skirmish mode on Utgard Aberrant with kill streak bonuses active.
  • Kill streak multipliers: Maintaining kill streaks gives bonus Gold and XP per kill. Use Overslash Memory to splash overkill damage for rapid multi-kills.

⚔️ Combat Tips & Tricks

🎬 Attack on Titan Revolution — COMPLETE BEGINNER GUIDE (All Mechanics)

Always target the nape first

The nape (back of neck) is the titan's only fatal weak point. All other hits deal negligible damage.

Approach from above and behind

Flying over and dropping onto the nape from behind eliminates all block and retaliation mechanics.

Use Counter after blocking

A well-timed F block, followed immediately by an attack, activates the Counter skill window for instant limb damage or kill.

Reload blades mid-air

Press R while airborne to reload blades without losing momentum. Essential for maintaining kill streaks on large groups.

Boost into hook combinations

Fire hook → immediately double-tap Space for a boost slingshot. This 'boost hook' combo is the fastest traversal technique.

Pull back before nape hit

Fire both hooks (Q+E) into the nape at the same time and use momentum to drive through for massive damage. Called a 'dual-hook kill'.

👥 Choosing Your First Family

You start with a random Common family. As you collect Spins from codes and missions, you'll roll for better bloodlines. Here's what to aim for as a beginner based on playstyle. See the full Families Tier List for complete rankings.

Pure ODM Combat
Ackerman (Legendary)

Best ODM stats in the game. +20% DMG, Double Jump, Let it RIP skill. No titan shift, but dominates every map.

Titan Shifting
Yeager (Legendary)

Best Attack Titan shifting stats. Shifter Regen passive. High HP pool. Natural fit for raid content.

Budget/Starter
Azumabito (Rare)

Accessible Rare family. +12% ODM Damage plus unique Kengo sword skills. Much easier to roll than Legendary.
